The reserve is part of a worked-out quarry on soft Jurassic Lower Lincolnshire Limestone.
The reserve entrance is situated to the east of Waltham-on-the-Wolds.
Approach the reserve from Waltham along Bescaby Lane.
Park in a small lay-by opposite the reserve entrance.
